Modern Day Slavery

Last updated: 01/06/2025

At REFYT Ltd, we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are fully committed to preventing such practices in our operations and supply chains.

About REFYT Ltd

REFYT Ltd is a retrofit installation company based in London. We specialise in energy efficiency improvements such as external wall insulation, loft insulation, flat roof upgrades, and heating system installations. We deliver government-funded schemes including ECO4, GBIS, and other local authority initiatives, working closely with councils, managing agents, and homeowners.

Our Ethical Commitment

REFYT Ltd supports the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chains. We expect the same high standards from all our partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.

We take our responsibility seriously to:

• Act with integrity and transparency in our business relationships

• Implement and enforce effective systems and controls

• Continually review and improve our processes to combat modern slavery

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain includes:

• Manufacturers and distributors of retrofit materials (e.g. insulation systems, heating equipment)

• Accredited subcontractors and skilled tradespeople

• Professional service providers (e.g. CRM software, data handling, consultancy)

We recognise that some areas may carry a higher risk of unethical labour practices, particularly in construction-related sectors and overseas sourcing. We therefore conduct appropriate risk-based assessments and work primarily with UK-based, accredited suppliers.

Due Diligence and Supplier Verification

We undertake due diligence checks prior to engaging subcontractors or suppliers, including:

• Verification of industry accreditations (e.g. PAS 2030, TrustMark)

• Health & safety policy compliance

• Confirmation of adherence to anti-slavery principles

All subcontractors are required to agree to our standard terms and conditions, which include commitments to ethical labour practices and compliance with applicable laws.

Risk Assessment and Management

While we assess the risk of modern slavery within our operations as low, we remain alert to the possibility and continue to:

• Use primarily UK-based, certified suppliers

• Conduct spot checks and site visits where appropriate

• Maintain clear contractual obligations with subcontractors regarding labour practices

• Reserve the right to terminate contracts with any party found in breach of ethical conduct

Staff Awareness and Training

All relevant staff are made aware of our commitment to preventing modern slavery. We aim to ensure that:

• Staff involved in procurement or supply chain management understand the risks

• Team members are trained to spot signs of exploitation and know how to escalate concerns

• Ethical conduct forms part of our induction and ongoing training practices

Whistleblowing and Reporting Concerns

REFYT Ltd encourages open communication and protects anyone raising genuine concerns. If any employee, subcontractor, supplier, or member of the public suspects modern slavery or unethical labour practices within our business or supply chain, we encourage them to report it in confidence:

• Email: info@refyt.co.uk

• Phone: 020 4582 2636

• Address: Millharbour Court, 6 Watergate Walk, London, E14 9XH

We investigate all reports seriously and take appropriate action, including notifying authorities where required.

Ongoing Commitment and Review

We are committed to improving our practices year-on-year to combat slavery and human trafficking. This statement will be reviewed annually by senior management and updated as needed to reflect any changes in legislation or operational practices.
